The seventh annual amfAR Inspiration Gala New York took place at Skylight at Moynihan Station in Manhattan on June 9.
The black-tie benefit brought together some of today’s biggest celebrities to support amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research. Guests in attendance included Leonardo DiCaprio, Whoopi Goldberg, Jason Derulo, Zayn Malik, Zac Posen and Kelly Osbourne, among many others.
Naomi Campbell and Louis Vuitton Men’s Artistic Director, Kim Jones, were both honored during the event for their ongoing fight against AIDS. The iconic supermodel Naomi Campbell has been a supporter of amfAR for 23 years and received the Award of Inspiration.
The evening featured live performances from Zayn Malik, Jason Derulo and Nico & Vinz. The live auction included an assortment of luxury items and exclusive experiences such as a private portrait sitting with legendary photographer Steven Klein, a surprise package to attend Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation’s annual gala in St. Tropez and a collection of exclusive Louis Vuitton scarves as well as many other enticing gifts.
One of the night’s biggest highlights included a John Wood Productions menswear runway show. The show featured a “Jet-Set”-themed collection including designer looks from Acne Studios, Alexander McQueen, Calvin Klein, Diesel Black Gold, DSQUARED2, Givenchy, Helmut Lang, Kenneth Cole, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Missoni, Salvatore Ferragamo, Thom Browne, Todd Snyder, Valentino, Versace and others.
Harry Winston, MAC Viva Glam and The Points Guy were the Presenting Sponsors along with Moët Hennessy and Windows were the Signature Sponsors.
The Foundation for AIDS Research, amfAR, is one of the world’s leading nonprofit organizations, and, since 1985, the foundation has invested $450 million in its research, HIV prevention, treatment education and advocacy programs. This year’s Inspiration Gala in New York brought in $1.2 million, a grand achievement for the seventh annual event.
