I hope this reaches you in good spirits. I am e mailing you about your availability for Feb. 27th between 11am-5pm. I am asking for stylist and  barbers that you may know to come and donate time as we reward kids that read the free African american history books we have for them with free haircuts and hair dos. Please let me know what you will be able to do. Further details of the project and event is located below.

Support The Port Presents:

Come Through, its Lit! Monthly Book Drive & Literature Engagement

CONCEPT: Support The Port  has partnered with Barber Shops & Hair Salons around the city to bring the citizens of Wilmington, N.C. a lituation situation with the Come Through, it’s Lit! Book Drive and Literature engagement. From Feb. 1st to Feb. 29th.  Select businesses around Wilmington, NC will be collecting books for all ages of all reading levels. The books will be focused around African American History and/or be written by an African American Authors.  During the last Saturday of February participating Barbers and  Hair Stylist will come under one roof to provide the kids of Wilmington a free grooming.  Not only will the customers get to enjoy a great book while they wait for their appointment, but they will also get to see a live book reading performance by African American Authors that are natives of Wilmington, NC.  Guest that come to the participating location, will be able to let their child receive a free haircut/hair-do if they  read out loud to their barber/hair stylist while they are getting their hair done/cut.
