March 6, 2015-Atlanta, GA- On Saturday, March 7, 2015 philanthropist, respected actress, and CEO of Hosea Feed The Hungry and Homeless, Elisabeth Omilami, will travel to Selma , Alabama along with Mayor Kasim Reed and President Barack Obama to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Selma march to Montgomery. The march, led by Elisabeth Omilami’s father, Hosea Williams, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s trusted officer of the SCLC during the Civil Rights Movement, led to the enactment of the voting rights act of 1965. The commemoration will honor the unsung heros of the Civil Rights Movement in addition to Dr, King. Being televised by numerous national media outlets, this moment in history will be televised nationwide and introduced to many upcoming generations.
With each moment being recorded for the upcoming documentary entitled “All The Kings Men“, produced by Ebony Eyes Entertainment and shot by Kinship Works Production Company, the anniversary of the march, better known as “BloodySunday,” will give an accurate account of the events leading up to the march, how Hosea Williams fought to lead the march, and how peaceful protestors were beaten by Alabama state troopers crossing the Edmund Pettus Bridge. Narrated by Elisabeth Omilami, her voice will serve as the voice of record for the original unacclaimed individuals of the Civil Rights Movement. Footage to be captured during the weekend: events surrounding the anniversary march, the presentation of the Congressional Medal of Honor (on behalf of Hosea Williams, John Lewis and Martin Luther King, Jr) for their honor and bravery through the civil rights movement. The medallion will represent all of the unsung heros whose courageous efforts changed the voice of black america . The march will be a time to reflect on the outstanding efforts of legendary Civil Rights Leaders and unforgettable icons .
The next major event held by Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless will be theHosea Good Friday Festival taking place on Friday April 3, 2015. The festival will be held 10 a.m until 3 p.m at The Georgia International Convention Center. In addition to meals, clothing, beauty and barbering, the organization will offer medical services to those in need. Hosea Feed The Hungry and Homeless is still currently accepting donations for The Hosea Good Friday Festival.
