Got The Quarantine Blues? You Are Not Alone, This Is For You!

During this time of uncertainty, fears and emotions are running high. Loneliness, depression and anxiety are abundant and reasonably so. Being quarantined without a definitive end in sight can be both frustrating and unnerving. People are missing their families whom they haven’t seen due to mandatory social distancing as well as enjoying life without reason for pause. But there is good news! Even in the midst of a pandemic, there can still be peace. 

Be encouraged today knowing that you are not alone. Even though you may be feeling lonely, it may bring some consolation to know that many people in the world at this very moment, feel exactly as you do and it’s perfectly normal. If you are dealing with anxiety or depression or any number of other mental health concerns, you’re most certainly not alone there either. Pandemics and unforeseen disasters would quite naturally cause a disturbance in your emotions and peace of mind. 

According to Mental Health America, reports of anxiety have shot up by 30% as recent as March in response to the ongoing news of the Coronavirus. So, this is a very real worry and mental health is just as important as your physical health. Your concerns are valid and your mental vitality matters.

It is an expected human reaction to be overwhelmed, anxious, and emotional given the extreme circumstances at hand. The trick, however, is to not let it consume you. It may be easier said than done, but it just takes a little effort on your part and it’s actually not impossible. 

You are more powerful than you know. Look at what all you’ve already been through and overcome! And guess what? You are still here! That’s no coincidence, it means you have purpose. There is a reason for everything, and your existence was and is intentional.

Every morning you wake up with breath still in your lungs, life in your limbs and are able to open your eyes and behold a new day, my friend, you are winning! So, keep that winning attitude and know that you are bigger than anxiety and depression and anything else that tries to steal your peace. You are victorious!
