(August 19, 2015 – Atlanta, GA) On Thursday, September 17, 2015, Hosea Helpswill partner with The City of College Park, GICC and the Georgia Department of Labor to host the 6th annual Labor of Love. Labor of Love is a career and resource event that has successfully given Atlanta citizens the opportunity to explore career options while gaining exposure to exceptional job prospects. This year’s event will take place from10am to 2pm at the Georgia International Convention Center, 2000 Convention Center Concourse, Atlanta Ga 30337.
With Georgia’s unemployment rate at 6.1 percent, according to the Georgia Department of Labor, Hosea Helps hopes to assist individuals achieve their career goals as Labor of Love will meet the basic employment needs of so many. Labor of Love was created to reclaim some of the initial promise of Labor Day—a celebration of American labor and an inspiration that there is hope for American citizens. During the event, individuals will have access to job opportunities, they will also sharpen their job interviewing skills and job coaches will be onsite critiquing resumes. “Labor of Love allows Hosea to once again bridge the gap from those that have to those that have not. There are many wonderful companies in the city as well as many incredible employees that are looking for new opportunities. Hosea Helps brings them together,”says Afemo Omilami, Chief Operating Officer of Hosea Helps.
In addition to providing Atlanta citizens with job readiness seminars and the opportunity to return to work, Labor of Love will also have the traditional Hosea Helps’ activities providing food to those in need as well as dress for success clothing. We welcome donations of cash, food and professional attire. This event is open to the public and the organization is currently accepting donations.
