A budding romance between Jeannie Mai, co-host of Emmy-award-winning daytime talk show The Real, and well-known rap-artist and pioneer Jeezy has officially turned into a proposal. “I want nothing more than to spend the rest of my life loving you…” Jeannie Mai captions under the picture of the two on her instagram adding right after, “YES” emphatically in all caps. She is wearing an elegant tropical-blue dress and sophisticated earth-tone sandals with her hand in her man’s as he appears to be bringing it up to his lips for a kiss. Jeezy is clothed in an all white suit with stylish white designer sneakers and they appear to be posing on a beach, all smiles.
PEOPLE revealed exclusively, that Jeezy officially popped the question on March 27. The pending nuptials come just three years after Mai’s divorce following a ten year marriage. The couple had plans to take a trip to Vietnam this past April but had to cancel due to the “rona”. Unbeknownst to Jeannie, Jeezy was all set to propose to her while there. Apparently, however, Mai’s soon-to-be hubby had a plan b up his sleeve, and instead brought Vietnam to his unsuspecting bride-to-be “with a surprise quarantine date night in his home filled with Vietnamese food and decor”.
As many view quarantine as lock-down or isolation, this was very creative and super romantic on Jeezy’s part to take the circumstances at hand, and transform them into a fairytale instead. Being that celebrities are often trendsetters whether they intend to be or not, it would be quite interesting to see if others follow in their footsteps and plan quarantine proposals for their significant others as well. This lovely couple is proof that this time locked away from the world outside, could be an awesome opportunity for couples to connect on deeper levels and bask in the chance for romance that has apparently presented itself.
What do you think about this proposal? Would you plan something like this for the woman in your life? Or would you be swept away if your future husband surprised you with a proposal in this manner? The couple in question have most certainly created a buzz around their imminent marriage at hand and they have everyone talking.
The year 2020 is only four months old and God only knows how long this quarantine situation will last. When people are forced to be around each other for extended periods of time, only one or two things tend to happen. People will either grow more fond of each other and develop a deeper bond, or become less than enthused to be in eachother’s presence ultimately deciding that perhaps it’s best they part ways. It’s situations like these that show what relationships are really made of and put them to the test for sure. So, with that said, only time will tell if the whole quarantine proposal idea will in fact be trending.
So, until next time, happy quarantining! Stay positive and be safe!
