An Alumni of The American School of Ballet Aesha Ash, started an organization called “The Swan Dreams project” which brings ballet to urban neighborhoods reguardless of socioeconomic standards. The purpose is to help redefine stereotypes and misconceptions of young African American women, and to help them build confidence and to show beauty and talent are not constrained by race.

Aesha who was born in Rochester was the only African American student at her school during her time there and she flourished. She graduated and then was accepted into the New York Ballet.
