|Long-Term PR Strategy Brings Benefits
Two long-term ThinkZILLA PR & Consulting Group clients are already celebrating big accomplishments and accolades less than a month into 2015.
Arizona client Alan “AP” Powell capitalized during the Super Bowl when he devised his Super Bowl Week Experience to benefit his charity, Checkered Flag Run Foundation. CFRF helps provide school supplies and diverse learning programs to promote high school completion and post-secondary education for Arizona students.
By partnering with other community organizations and gaining the endorsement of the White House’s “My Brother’s Keeper” Initiative, Powell was able to bring together government officials, business leaders, sports and entertainment celebrities, and community activists for a series of events during the week prior to the Super Bowl. The events have garnered positive press for Powell and his organization, but most importantly, have generated thousands of dollars in proceeds to help support the mission and programs of the Checkered Flag Run Foundation.
Another long-term Texas ThinkZILLA client, Pastor Keion Henderson engages his church’s membership and collaborates with community institutions to bring hope and support to Houston area residents. Pastor Keion’s efforts in building and sustaining the Houston community are being recognized with this year with nominations for two national leadership and humanitarian awards: The NAACP Image Awards’ Hometown Champion Award and the People of Distinction Humanitarian Awards’ Unsung Heroes Award.
The NAACP Image Awards’ Hometown Champions program honors individuals who exemplify service to their neighbors and communities through grassroots efforts, while the People of Distinction Humanitarian Awards’ Unsung Heroes Awards offers accolades to individuals who inspire others with their courage, humility and dedication to “doing better and being better.”
