GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Greensboro church will give away free gas and groceries on Good Friday.
Mount Zion Baptist church will pump $20 worth of free gas in the first 250 cars on Friday, April 3, 2015.
We know what happens when the church offers the free fill up. We saw the long lines for the past two years, but the wait is well worth it, especially when the free gas tops off your tank.
Pastor Joe Frierson is the young adult pastor at Mount Zion Baptist Church. He talked about the free gas and groceries giveaway on the Good Morning Show.
“The “No Greater Love” event allows the church to help the community and spread God’s love,” said Frierson. “It’s all about sharing, and it’s about salvation. We thought no greater way than to come out here and to give to people who might not come to us and just show love and kindness,” he added.
The gas giveaway is Friday, April 3, 2015 at the Exxon Gas Station located at 1409 South Elm Eugene Street in Greensboro. The line up begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 11 a.m. The first 250 gars will receive the free gasoline.
The church is also providing 288 bags of groceries to families in the Hampton Homes neighborhood. The grocery giveaway will take place Saturday, April 4, 2015.
Later that day the church will host a community day at Sussmans Street Park. It’s from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 299 Sussmans Street in Greensboro. The event is free and open to the public and offers free food, clothes and fun for the whole family.
